See photos below.

With several large free ranging flocks of Rio Grande Turkeys that inhabit Buck Valley Ranch you’ll definitely have an opportunity to call in a trophy Tom. Before first light, you'll be driven to a location where we’ve observed roosting and strutting activity. Then the fun begins, it’s up to you to put your Turkey calling skills to the test!

The Rio Grande Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo intermedia) is native to the central plains states and was first described as intermediate in appearance between the eastern and western subspecies of wild turkey by George B. Sennett in 1879

Rio Grande Turkeys are approximately 4 feet tall, with legs that seem long for their body size. They often have a green-coppery sheen with the lower back and tips of tail feathers pale yellow-brown to light tan color. Adult hens are smaller in size, compared toms, and similar in color but duller. Toms weigh around 20 pounds at maturity with hens and jakes averaging 8 to 12 pounds. While on your Turkey hunt you’re likely to see some of the other animals that live at the ranch.

Come to Buck Valley Ranch for an outstanding turkey hunting experience. We have great facilities. Comfortable accommodations are available if you wish. We always provide the very best of Texas hospitality with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
