Fallow Deer Hunting at Buck Valley Ranch
At Buck Valley Ranch, we offer year-round Trophy Fallow Deer hunts. Known for their unique palmate antlers, these impressive deer provide an exciting and rewarding hunt. Bucks are typically harvested from September through March when their antlers are hard, while does can be hunted year-round for their excellent meat.
Fallow Deer come in four color variations—spotted (Menil), chestnut (Common), dark brown to black (Melanistic), and pure white (Leucistic). Bucks typically weigh around 170 pounds but can exceed 300 pounds. Their broad, moose-like antlers can span 5 to 10 inches and reach lengths of up to 39 inches, making them a striking trophy.
Originally from Eurasia, Fallow Deer are among the most widely introduced deer species worldwide and were first brought to North America at George Washington’s estate. Their venison is highly regarded and often considered a favorite among hunters.
Our expert guides will help you track these incredible animals, and as you hunt, you'll have the opportunity to spot other game across the ranch.
